The Tavern is my Discord server, and it has been home to a World of Warcraft guild since 2012. Over time it grew into something harder to categorize: part raid team, part creative community, part very enthusiastic early-access playtest group for a murder mystery game I probably shouldn’t have started designing. It is all of those things now, and it works because we keep them in their own rooms.

The server is organized into three wings. The Guild Hall is for active members of the Green Dragon Tavern WoW guild — raid nights, key groups, guild votes, the competitive housing scene that has gotten slightly out of hand. If you’re here to raid with us, this is where you’ll live. The Common Room is open to everyone: fans, fellow creators, people who found their way here from a YouTube video or a TikTok and decided to stay. It’s the social floor — general chat, art sharing, music, pets, the usual. And the Game Table is where we’re quietly building something new — playtesting Murder (Probably), an original card-based murder mystery game currently in development. Playtesters get early access, a direct line to the design process, and the honor of finding the rules broken before anyone else does.

Joining is straightforward. When you arrive you’ll be asked a few questions that route you to the right wing — you can belong to more than one, and most people do. Wherever you land, the rules are simple and short, the moderation is light-handed but present, and the vibe is closer to a late-night pub conversation than a managed online experience.
